Check permission to treat you here

Florida’s law allows routine online visits through a Florida licence or an out-of-state registration, as of September 2026.

Florida also accepts some licences covering several states under an agreement it has joined. Ask which agreement and licence cover your visit.

Exceptions also allow emergency care and advice to a Florida health professional who stays in charge of your care.

A health professional already licensed in Florida needs no added telehealth registration.

A state list identifies people registered to provide care from outside Florida.

The list shows their licence details and past penalties for breaking professional rules. Each registered person’s website must link to that state record.

Does registration allow an office visit here?

As of September 2026, that registration does not permit a Florida office or an in-person visit here.

Ask which record applies to your visit. The registration is different from a full Florida licence.

What care standard applies online?

As of September 2026, Florida applies the same care and record standards to visits online and in person.

The person treating you must learn enough during the online visit to identify your problem and treat it. When the visit provides that information, the general Florida law allows care without a physical exam or a separate review of your past health first.

Ask what information is needed for your problem. This rule does not promise that a brief call will be enough.

Weight treatment has a separate medical-board evaluation rule, including history, examination and relevant tests.

Before travelling, share your expected location for the visit with the service and ask what changes.
